Man in critical condition after ATV accident in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Westmoreland man is in critical condition after an ATV accident Thursday night.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Adrian A. Spence, 22, of Westmoreland was operating his 1990 Polaris ATV on Eureka Road when he lost control of the ATV and rolled over.

Authorities said Spence was able to stay on the ATV but was pinned underneath it. Two witnesses told the authorities that Spence was operating without a helmet.

The Westmoreland Fire Department and COCVAC responded to the scene and transported Spence to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica where he is listed in critical condition with a serious head injury.

The investigation is continuing.
