Man injured when motorcycle strikes deer

(WKTV) - A Castorland man was injured Wednesday morning near Lyonsdale when the motorcycle he was riding struck a deer, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office said.

Terry L. Blair, 63, was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson eat on Moose River Road when he struck a deer head on. Upon impact, the motorcycle fell on the roadway and spun 180 degrees with Blair still on the bike. The motorcycle rested on top of Blair. He was not ejected and his helmet was still intact.

Blair was transported via Port Leyden EMS to the Port Leyden Fire Department, and then transported via helicopter to St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He is listed in critical condition with head and chest trauma a broken left wrist and other lacerations.
