UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Sauquoit man previously charged with bigamy, accepted a plea offer in court on Wednesday.

Michael Mandia pleaded to an amended first count of offering a false instrument for filing and unlawfully procuring a marriage license. He was also sentenced that same day in Oneida County Court.

As a result of the plea offer, he must pay $1,000 to local charities.

Mandia was accused of being married to two women at the same time. His attorney says Mandia thought he was legally divorced when he re-married in 2006.
