(WKTV) - A man wanted for questioning in a Massachusetts slaying was taken into custody in Utica, Utica police said.

Tarrane Tillis, 35, of Lowell, Mass., is charged with being a fugitive from justice. He is awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.

According to officials, Utica police were contacted Sunday by investigators in Lowell. Officers learned the man was at a home on Roberts Street. Officers from the warrants unit and members of the U.S. Marshal's NY/NJ Fugitive Regional Task Force took Tillis into custody.

Tillis is facing armed home-invasion charges, but has not yet been arraigned, the Lowell Sun reports. He is accused of being part of a group of men who was killed Dec. 18 in the hallway of his apartment building.
