Marine Corps League honors business for help during Hurricane Sandy

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - An airplane repair and refurbishing company at the Griffiss International Airport in Rome has received a distinguished award from the Marine Corps League.

The owner of Mid-Air donated the use of a 53-foot tractor trailer last October during the first days of Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

The Marine Corps League collected generators, food supplies and clothing that was donated by residents in our area.

The big rig was driven to Staten Island by a Mid-Air employee in the middle of an early November Noreaster that happened just days after the hurricane hit.

The Marine Corps League say its Herkimer location is still looking for donations to help the flood victims right here at home.
