Maximum Power Park all set for Saturday's Mud-Racing Blowout

By LEXIE O'CONNOR

POLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Trucks weren't there just yet on Friday afternoon, but the mud is ready at Maximum Power Park in Poland for Saturday's Mud-Racing Blowout.

"Tomorrow, we're gonna' have truck mud drag races. We're expecting upwards of 140 trucks," said Events Coordinator Peter Lockwood. "We've got minis, we've got Jeeps, stock trucks, we've got modified trucks. They all race down the 300 foot pit here full of mud and see who's fastest down through there."

The park is on North Gage Road in Poland and welcoming drivers of trucks of all sizes to race, as well as families to come and watch.

"All ages, kids under twelve are free, five dollar admission," Lockwood said. "It's good family fun for everyone."

Gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 8 and the races start at 1 p.m., kicking off a day of food, races, and giveaways.

"We got a lot of local vendors putting on displays, so hopefully it brings quite a bit to the community as far as gas and food for the area," Lockwood said.

After advertising across the Northeast, coordinators expect the event to bring thousands of drivers and spectators ready to have some fun in the mud.
