UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Comets and Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri participated in the Dick Miller Shoot-Out Contest, Wednesday night.

During halftime of the Dick Miller game between Watson Williams and the Utica Titans, the Mayor took on local children and some players from the Comets in a different kind of shootout for the hockey players.

The event took place at the Parkway Rec Center in Utica, and drew quite the crowd from the Utica community.

"The one kid that won against the Mayor, he was kind of nervous because the Mayor was knocking out all the shots in practice," said City of Utica Recreation Director, Lonnie Jenkins. "They started shooting, he was winning, the kid was knocking out a lot of shots."

The Dick Miller Basketball League is a program open to boys and girls in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.
