(WKTV) - A Christmas at City Hall is scheduled for Dec. 12 in Utica, Mayor Robert Palmieri announced Thursday.

Palmieri says the evening of entertainment will feature caroling from the JFK Choir, the lighting of the Christmas tree and a visit from Santa.

Elves will also be on hand to make special ornaments with children and help kids write letters to Santa. Families will also have a chance to visit with the Utica Zoomobile and take a wagon ride around City Hall.

"This is just an event that is very important within the City of Utica, as we are a warm community," Palmieri said "This is just a little something that I think we want to give back.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 12.
