McDonald's in Herkimer gets a new look

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - McDonald's has been in the Village of Herkimer since 1962, moved to its current site in the year 2000 and on Friday, August 23, 2013, the restaurant showed off a brand new look.

It is the fifth local McDonald's to be renovated over the past few months, with Canastota, Yorkville, Utica and Ilion locations also seeing a new look as of late.

Just like the other unveilings, a donation was made to an organization within the region that helps others. In this case, that organization was the Kelberman Center, with clients from both Herkimer and Oneida Counties.

"The Kelberman Center is very near and dear to my heart, because I have a grandson with autistic tendencies who was served by the Kelberman Center and they did an outstanding job," said Tom Clark, owner of Mac-Clark Restaurants. "We're very happy to support them."

The renovated McDonald's in Herkimer boasts an upgraded exterior, an all-new interior, a new kitchen and a side-by-side drive thru that Clark says will increase the speed of drive-thru service.
