Mother and child treated for minor injuries after colliding with truck

(WKTV) - It was a close call for a local mother and her child, after the car they were in, hit a truck with a plow on it in Trenton.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office said Karra Brectcher, 25, from Rome, was driving west on Route 365 when she lost control of her car, skidded into the east lane and hit a truck with a snow plow on it. The truck was driven by Stephen O'Neil, 54, of Marcy.

Brectcher's daughter, 3-year-old Makinzee Brectcher, was in the car and had to be extricated from the right rear passenger side.

The child was in a car seat, which prevented serious injuries officials said.
