Mohawk man faces felony burglary charges

(WKTV) - A Mohawk man is charged with felony burglary in connection with an incident in Chadwicks, New Hartford Police said.

Lance R. Durham, 34, of Mohawk is charged with burglary in the second degree, a Class C felony, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, officials said.

According to police, officers responded to a residence on Elm Street in Chadwicks on Aug. 29 regarding a burglary that had just occurred. The woman who made the complaint said she had come home and found a vehicle parked at the end of her driveway that she didn't recognize. She then drove around the vehicle and parked at the top of her driveway. When the woman walked back down the driveway to check out the parked car, a man was seen climbing out of a window in front of her home. The man then got inside the parked car and drove away. The woman went inside and saw wet footprints in her bedroom and throughout the house.

Durham was arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court and sent to Oneida County Jail. He is currently in custody on several other charges stemming from other incidents throughout Oneida and Herkimer County. Durham's case will be turned over to Oneida County Court for further proceedings.
