Money jars for needy families stolen from Westmoreland business
WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Investigators are currently looking into a break-in that resulted in the theft of jars filled with cash for needy families.
On July 28, 2010, Oneida County Sheriff Deputies responded to a burglary at Sweet Old Memories, located at 6506 Route 5 in the Town of Westmoreland. According to investigators, some time between 10 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., an unknown number of suspects gained entry through a locked side window after trying, and failing, to gain entry through the back door. Authorities said about $1,000 in cash was taken, some of which was in two different donation jars for needy families. |
