UTICA, N.Y (WKTV) - The Stevens-Swan Humane Society had a relatively warm day to hold an outdoor fundraiser. On the last Saturday of every month, humane society workers and volunteers are on hand at the shelter in North Utica, collecting cans and bottles to raise money for the care of the animals. Shelter officials say that, on average, Stevens-Swan cares for 100 dogs and 150 cats at a time and these bottle and can drives go a long way to buying a lot of food and medicine that is needed for their care.
