More than 600 students graduate from Proctor High School in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - More than 600 Proctor High School Seniors got their diplomas on Friday.

Utica's high school held its graduation Friday at 10 a.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Several hundred parents and other family members filled the auditorium to watch their seniors turn their tassels and receive their diplomas.

The students say they're happy to get on with the next chapter in their lives.

"I feel happy and, like, ready to graduate and move on with my life," said Kimberly Reich, who plans on attending MVCC then continuing her education in order to become a teacher.

Senior Vernon Reed wants to be a chef. He, too, is ready for what's next.

"Like, work, college, moving on to bigger and better things," he said just before the ceremony got underway.
