Mother Marianne Cope honored with 2nd annual festival

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica has it's very own saint, and Saturday, locals honored her with a festival.
It is the second year for the Saint Marianne Cope Festival. 
The purpose of the festival is to commemorate the renaming of a portion of Varick Street in Saint Marianne's name. 
"Saint Marianne came here when she was a year and a half and settled here in Utica," said Ellen Benton. "she became a sister of Saint Francis and went to care for the lepers, we are graced and blessed to have a Saint from our city." 
"It is a rare and special happening."

Local food including greens were served at the event.
