Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen to raffle Boilermaker bib

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - A Boilermaker runner who secured a spot in the race before the big sellout can no longer run it -- but she wanted to use that coveted spot for a good cause.

So, she donated the bib to Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen.

The soup kitchen, named for a saint who spent part of her childhood in Utica, has served more than 200,000 meals to the less fortunate over the past six years. Raffling off the Boilermaker bib will help them keep up that work.

And because they're selling a small amount of tickets, your chances are pretty good.

"We're only selling 100 tickets," said Vicki Montalbano of Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen. "It's $25 a ticket. All proceeds go directly to the soup kitchen."

You can get the tickets at St. Joseph's and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 702 Columbia St., from May 27 through June 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., or call 735-4429.
