NBT Bank robbery suspect arraigned; pleads 'Not Guilty'


ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The man arrested in connection with Thursday's robbery at NBT Bank in Rome has been arraigned.

Ikiko Brown, 24, of Utica was arraigned on 1st degree Robbery Charges in Rome City Court Friday morning. He pleaded not guilty. His bail is set at $250,000 and he is currently in the custody of the Oneida County Sheriff's Department.

According to witness depositions, Brian Brown went into the bank and jumped up on the teller counter yelling "give me the money!" repeatedly. He was given money and ran out and got into either a gray or white SUV driven by Ikiko Brown. They later switched cars in an alley behind the bank and drove off in a gold Mitsubishi Galant.

Following a chase with multiple police departments, Ikiko Brown was taken into custody by Whitestown Police Chief Donald Wolanin on Route 49 near the Oriskany exit. He was assisted at the scene by a passing by off-duty law enforcement official.

Brian Brown is still at large and a massive manhunt for him continues.
