UTICA, N.Y. - NBT Bank has announced that its new Utica Financial Center will open in late September 2011, giving the bank a presence in Downtown Utica with expanded branch banking capabilities.

Company officials say the expanded branch banking capabilities will include drive-up teller service, a 24-hour ATM and a night depository. The new location will also feature expanded hours and a larger customer service area.

In addition, company officials said other NBT Bank lines of business will relocate to the new Downtown Utica location, such as commercial banking, retail banking management, and trust and financial services of the NBT Financial Group.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to grow our bank and contribute to the local community from our new location in Downtown Utica," said Dennis Surace, regional executive of NBT Bank's Mohawk Valley Region. "And we are assuring our customers that the service provided at our five additional Oneida County locations will remain constant throughout this transition."

The new branch will be located in the former United Way building on Genesee Street in downtown Utica, across the street from the Stanley Theatre.
