NTSB wants states to lower BAC limits for drunk driving

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The National Transportation Safety Board wants states to make big changes to greatly reduce the number of lives lost in drunk driving crashes. They're asking all 50 states to lower the Blood alcohol limit to .05.

The NTSB says if the change is made, it could potentially save 1,000 lives each year.

Right now the limit is .08.

The last time the limit was reduced, it took 21 years for all states to implement the change.
