National Guard helps deter kids from drug use

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - New York National Guard's Counter-Drug Task Force is teaming up with Mohawk Valley Community Action to take on drug abuse by youngsters and they are doing so by using fun as a deterrent.

The organizations held a drug prevention program on Thursday at Watson Williams Elementary School in Utica.

One of the challenge events was a rock climbing wall and the program was all part of the Community Action Agency's "Community Day."

2012 marks the the fourth year for the program, which continued until 5 p.m. On Thursday.
