Nearly 10,000 sign up for Boilermaker in first weekend of registration

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Registration for the 2013 Boilermaker 15K Road Race opened at midnight on Saturday and nearly 10,000 people have signed up to run. The race is capped at 14,000 runners.

In 2011, Boilermaker registration closed out in May. In 2012, maximum participation was reached two months earlier, in March. If that trend continues, registration for this year will only last a few weeks.

4,000 runners will be let into the 5K Road Race. Nearly 1,500 were registered at the end of the weekend.
