New Berlin man faces several charges after dispute

(WKTV) - A New Berlin man is accused of grabbing someone by the throat during a dispute at a home in Columbus, New York State Police said.

Tory L. Brown, 30, of New Berlin, is charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree.

According to officials, troopers responded to a report of a dispute at a home on County Route 31 in Columbus. Authorities determined that during a physical dispute, Brown allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and damaged a cell phone. He also is accused of violating an order of protection the victim had placed against him.

Brown was sent to the Chenango County Jail. Bail was set at $10,000
