New Berlin woman accused of stealing from Walmart while with 10-year-old

(WKTV) - A New Berlin woman faces charges after she allegedly stole from the Norwich Walmart while having her 10-year-old daughter with her, the Chenango County Sheriff's Office said.

Jennifer E. Hoyt, 39, of the Town of New Berlin is charged with burglary in the third degree, petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to authorities, Hoyt was arrested Friday after a complaint she stole from the Town of Norwich Walmart while she was with her 10-year-old daughter. Hoyt had previously been banned from the store and had an active trespass order.

She was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and returned to the custody of the Chenango County Sheriff's Office in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
