UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Residents of North Utica are getting access to a brand new way of life.
A ribbon cutting took place, Thursday, at the North Utica Senior Citizen's Community Center to mark the opening of a new Fitness Center.
The new Fitness Center is located inside the Center, and includes a full gym of fitness equipment.
While the Fitness Center is within the walls of the Senior Community Center, all North Utica residents will have access to the facilities.
Senior Membership is available for $30/year, while residents under 50 years of age can have a membership for just $60/year.
"This has been a dream and a goal for ten years," said Senior Center Executive Director, Yvonne McClusky. "Today we are realizing that, and it's just an amazing day."
New classes will be offered at the Fitness Center, including Zumba, Pilates, and Tai Chi, beginning in January.
