New Hartford man accused of possessing child pornography

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A one month investigation by the New Hartford Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a New Hartford man.

Police have charged Robert A. Scott, 41, of New Hartford for possessing a sexual performance by a child. On September 9 2011, the New Hartford Police responded to Scott's address at 245 Oxford Road for a report that Scott was photographing young children outside of his apartment complex. Further investigation that evening led the New Hartford Police to secure several computers and external storage media from Scott's apartment.

After a full forensic preview of the electronic evidence, it was found that Scott had over 306,600 images, and 12,914 videos saved on his computer. Some of which contained child pornography.

Scott was charged and processed at the New Hartford Police Department and subsequently arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court. Following his arraignment, Scott was remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail/bond.

Scott is scheduled to return to the Town of New Hartford Court on Monday, October 31 at 1 p.m.
