Local student presents research on lead hot spots

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV)--A local student has worked for roughly two years researching lead poisoning in the Oneida County region, on Thursday night she presented some of her findings during a community discussion at the Mohawk Valley Freedom School, in Utica.

New York schools facing millions in cuts with fiscal cliff

(WKTV) - If no agreement is reached with the approaching fiscal cliff, New York State is looking to lose about $164 million in federal funding for the 2013 -14 school year. Utica City Schools say this will bring an almost $1 million cut to their budget, Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Superintendent says their schools will collectively face similar cuts.
