ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Anthony Picente is working with ProAct and the New York State Association of Counties to provide Oneida County residents with prescription drug discounts.

More than half of the counties in New York are already participating in the ProAct Prescription Drug Program which is designed to help the uninsured and under-insured.

"Since the inception of our discount card through ProAct we've saved residents over 26 million dollars," ProAct president, David B. Warner said.

Roughly 85,000 prescription discount cards will be mailed out to Oneida County residents the week of August 2.

These cards can be used at pharmacies across the nation to receive ten to twenty percent discounts on brand-name drugs and discounts of up to seventy percent on generic drugs. Discounts on vision and hearing care are also offered, as well as cuts of up to twenty percent on pet medications.

Any household that does not receive a card can visit to print one, or call ProAct, Inc. at 1-877-776-2285.
