Nine teens, seven adults charged with alcohol violations at Sylvan Beach

SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. (WKTV) - Undercover State Troopers charged more than a dozen people for violating alcohol laws on the beaches of Sylvan Beach last week, State Police announced on Sunday.

Troopers were positioned on the beach in order to find possible underage drinkers. When underage drinkers were seen, a team of uniform Troopers was sent in and the underage drinkers were arrested and removed from the beach.

The following people were arrested for violating the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, underage person’s possession of an alcoholic beverage with intent to consume:

- Sasha Funn, age 17, Utica
- Amanda Feralo, age 17, Utica
- Tiffany Huening, age 16, Utica
- Erica Gigliotti, age 20, North Syracuse
- Brian Mays, age 17, Mattydale
- Gautam Badgujar, age 20, New York
- Corey Cook, age 19, Utica
- Shannon Long, age 17, North Syracuse
- Paul Givshakov, age 19, New York

Several people were also arrested for possessing an open container of alcohol. The are:

- Derek Dicastro, age 21, Rome
- James Sigg, age 22, Boonville
- Alycia Aylesworth, age 22, Utica
- Ashli Selden, age 22, Rome
- Scott Murdock, age 30, Liverpool
- Corey Drummond, age 21, New York
- Katarzyna Synakowski, age 21, Whitesboro

State Police would like to remind anyone visiting the Village of Sylvan Beach that it is illegal to possess an open container of alcohol in a public place within the village limits. The only exception is the picnic area to the west of the municipal parking lot on Park Ave.
