No arrests made in shooting death of Rome man

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rome Police are awaiting autopsy results but did confirm to NEWSChannel 2 that no arrests have been made in the shooting death of 50-year-old Charles DiGristine.

The police tape is down but an officer still sits out in front of 115 Lawrence Street, where DiGristine lived.

Vinny Esposito lives next door and he knew DiGristine and describes him as a friendly guy, a family guy, and he can't remotely fathom why anyone would want to kill him. Esposito said, "He'd go back and forth across the street and talk to this guy and that one and to the girls who lived here or he'd come in my backyard and hang out for a while. That was him. He had a daughter who was really nice and a grandson and he used to play with him up and down on the sidewalk and stuff and he was just a nice guy."
