No injuries reported at Wednesday fire on Jay Street in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fire crews made quick work of a fire on Jay Street in Utica that began around 1:15 on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire officials say the fire as put out in roughly ten minutes.

A woman living on the third floor of the building was at home with her son when the fire started. She smelled smoke and got out of the building safely. That's when she saw smoke and flames shooting out of a second floor wall.

The building at 713 Jay Street houses three apartments.

As of this writing there is no word on a cause.

No injuries were reported.
