State Police called in to assist with federal drug investigation in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - There was a strong law enforcement presence at a barn-like structure in the Town of Frankfort Wednesday morning that New York State Police say is related to a federal drug investigation.

Numerous Frankfort residents said they witnessed the heavy police presence along McIntyre Road Wednesday morning - with New York State Police Troopers, an armored SWAT vehicle, and SWAT teams all on the scene. Helicopters were also seen flying through the skies in the area.

State Police said they were called in to assist the Drug Enforcement Administration or DEA.

We're told that numerous marijuana plants were discovered at the site and several men were taken out of the structure in handcuffs.
