North Norwich men accused of stealing railroad tracks

(WKTV) - Two Town of North Norwich men were arrested Nov. 5-6 and face felony charges after authorities allege the pair damaged and stole railroad tracks.

Cody A. Gay, 22, and Paul R. Presnell, 22, both of North Norwich, are charged with felony criminal mischief in the third degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree and a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass in the third degree.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, on Aug. 28, the two allegedly went to a section of the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway in the Township of North Norwich and used torches to cut sections of track out of the railway. Gay and Presnell then allegedly turned the track in for money. They were released on appearance tickets.
