North Utica man praises DPW's swift action

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - According to one North Utica resident, the Department of Public Works went above and beyond the call after the storms Tuesday night.

George Ford says his street was littered with trees and branches after the storms came through. In fact, Ford says, the pavement was covered with debris. However, around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, crews got to work and didn't rest until it was cleaned up.

"They went above and beyond," Ford says. "We're always complaining they don't do this, they don't do that, potholes, this, that. We gotta give them credit for what they did today."

About 150 homes are still without power in the City of Utica, with about 170 in Deerfield without electricity.
