North Utica roads flooded by overflowing river
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A flood warning remains in effect for the Mohawk River as the water begins to overflow in the streets of North Utica. North Genesee Street from I-790 bridge is closed as is the ramp to the Thruway. The Thruway bridge to Wurz Avenue and Genesee Street are reduced to one lane due to the water. As rainy weather continues, the river is expected to rise until Monday morning, according to NEWSChannel 2 meteorologists. Several roads throughout Oneida and Herkimer Counties remain closed are impassable due to standing water or damage.
