Norwich man accused of stealing unemployment benefits

(WKTV) - A Norwich man was arrested after New York State Police say he stole unemployment benefits over a five-month period in 2010.

John J. Gesslein, 47, of Norwich, is charged with felony grand larceny in the third degree.

According to officials, the Department of Labor launched an investigation into stolen unemployment benefits between February and July 2010. The value of the stolen benefits was $3,900.

Gesslein was arrested on Sunday. He was issued a ticket returnable to the Town of Norwich Court.
