NORWICH, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Norwich man just released from the hospital has been charged with attempted murder after an August 30 shootout with authorities.

Authorities said Patrick W. Ford II, 41, of Norwich had been in University Hospital in Syracuse since being shot by a Deputy on August 30. Sheriff's officials say Ford was shot after he fired at Chenango County Deputies and a New York State Trooper on that date in the Town of Pitcher.

After he was released from the hospital, Ford was charged on September 27 with first-degree attempted murder, was arraigned in the Town of Pharsalia Court and sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail. He scheduled to re-appear in County Court at a later date.

The Chenango County District Attorney is reviewing the case and further charges are pending.
