(WKTV) - A Norwich woman faces charges after New York State Police say she was driving while intoxicated with a child as a passenger.

Emily A. Bixby, 31, of Norwich, is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child.

According to officials, troopers responded to the report of a disabled vehicle on Colesville Road in Colesville. Upon responding, troopers said Bixby had driven her vehicle just off the roadway and was stuck in the snow. She had a 5-year-old as a passenger. An investigation showed Bixby was intoxicated when she drove off the road, and she refused a breath test.

Bixby was sent to the Broome County Jail on a $1,500 cash bail. The child was turned over to a family member.
