Numerous roadways flood over in Oneida County

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Strong rainfall continued throughout Wednesday evening, sending water over roadways and making travel difficult in Oneida County, amid others.

Oneida County Emergency Services asked county residents not to make any unnecessary travel on Oneida County roads until Thursday morning. Officials said it is not considered a state of emergency, just an advisory.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Oneida County Emergency Services said State Route 5 between State Route 233 and Limberlost Road in the Town of Kirkland was closed due to flooding over the roadway.

Similar reports of flooding waters over the roadway came in for areas such as Solsville-Augusta Road in Oriskany Falls, the Memorial Parkway in Utica, Cedarbrook Crescent in North Utica, and many others.

Around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, reports were coming in that Brookside Mobile Manor in Chadwicks was being evacuated due to flooding.

Just after 7:19 p.m., officials said Route 291 in Stittville, between Chaminade Road and Fox Road had flooded over and was closed down.
