Octavius Garrett sentenced to 15-years in connection to Garner's death

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Octavius Garrett is off to state prison for 15 years for his role in the shooting death of Anthony Garner in May of 2011.

He was sentenced in Oneida County Court on Friday.

Garrett, 31, and Dominique Cook, 27, both faced a second degree murder charge and gun possession charges in connection to Garner's death.

Both pleaded guilty to manslaughter in exchange for a 15 year sentence.

Cook will be sentenced January 18th.

A third person, the actual shooter, Marshall Jackson, 31, was sentenced last January to 25-years in state prison.
