Officer D. Coy is on patrol in Rome to raise awareness of speeding

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - You may want to slow down in Rome, as
Officer D. Coy is on patrol!

The officer is actually a mannequin inside of a police cruiser, which the Rome Police Department says acts as a reminder for people to slow down. The Department said people see the patrol car and are suddenly more aware of the speed limit.

It's the first year Rome has put Officer D. Coy to work and the initiative has only been under way for about two weeks.

However, they warn that you never know when a real police officer will be in the driver's seat.
