Officer reportedly shot in Knoxboro standoff

DEANSBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - Reports into the NEWSChannel 2 newsroom indicate that a police officer has been shot in the standoff in Knoxboro. Oneida County Sheriffs Deputies are still on the scene with an armed man on Knoxboro Road.

The officer was reportedly transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center by ambulance.

We are working to get official confirmation from Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Earlier, authorities told NEWSChannel 2 that a 41-year-old man with a long rifle barricaded himself in his garage. He was not being responsive to police questioning.

Police responded to the scene because of a domestic dispute after 10:00 p.m. Monday.
