Officials: Person dead following shooting in Old Forge

OLD FORGE, N.Y. (WKTV) - One person is dead following a shooting in Old Forge, according to officials in Herkimer County.

Details of the shooting have not yet been confirmed by New York State Police, who say they will release more information Saturday afternoon.

Reports indicate that the fatal shooting took place at the Forge Motel in Old Forge. An employee of the motel told NEWSChannel 2 that a couple was arguing on the property.

It is not clear if any charges have been filed against anyone involved.

This is the second fatal shooting in Old Forge in about a month. In July, a father accidentally shot and killed his son at Clark's Beach Motel, according to police.

Clark's Beach Motel is right next door to the Forge Motel along Old Forge Pond.
