Officials, engineers meet to brainstorm on Fulmer Creek

GERMAN FLATTS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The flooding of Fulmer Creek in German Flatts has been a problem for roughly three decades, but a $25,000 grant for a feasibility study could mean finding solutions to the problems.

Two Supervisor Frank Spatto met with a group of engineers on Tuesday and said there is a lot of land erosion upstream. Debris clogs the stream beds and water goes over the banks.

"As of right now, we don't know if anything can be done," Spatto said. "As far as a time frame, the engineering group is looking to see what they can do. I think no matter what we do, we'll help a little bit."

The Village of Mohawk is typically the victim of Fulmer Creek's flooding.
