Officials plan for a 2016 completion date of Route 291 bridge

STITTVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A public hearing took place Tuesday night at the Marcy Town Hall, regarding the replacement of a bridge on Route 291.

The bridge runs over 9-mile creek. The project aims to replace the existing bridge, because of its deteriorating condition.

Officials said most of the work will take place during the summer months of 2016 to make things easier for the nearby school.

"The current schedule, right now, is to have the project go out to bid in the later part of 2015 with construction to beginning of the spring of 2016," said Brian Hoffmann the regional design engineer for the project.

He said they hope to have the bulk of the work completed by the fall of 2016.
