One injured in early-morning home invasion

(WKTV) - A home invasion in the 1100 block of Leeds Street early Thursday morning left one man injured, Utica Police said.

According to police, around 3:12 a.m., officers responded to a home on Leeds for a home invasion in which a shot was fired. Officers spoke with a man who said three suspects forcibly entered his home and threatened him with guns. The man said the three then stole money and assaulted him before fleeing. The victim was treated for a head wound.

The suspects are described as two black men around 5'10" and 200 pounds wearing blue hooded sweatshirts and jeans and one black man described as 5'10", 200 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The three all had handguns.

Those with information on the case are asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 223-3510. All calls will be kept confidential.
