(WKTV) - One person was injured in an accident between a school bus and an Amish buggy Tuesday in the Town of Lewis, officials said.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Adirondack Central School bus driver Joseph J. Mihalko was making a left turn onto Kirk Road from Statzer Road when he hit the back of an Amish buggy. After the buggy was hit, the horse began to run down Statzer Road, which caused the buggy to overturn.

The school bus driver and the students aboard the bus were uninjured. Laura Yoder, 22, of Ava was driving the buggy and was transported to a Rome hospital for a shoulder injury. Her two children who were riding in the buggy were uninjured.
