WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - A New Hartford man was transported to the hospital for neck and back pain following a three car accident at the intersection of County Route 840 and Westmoreland Road in the Town of Whitestown on Wednesday.

According to Whitestown Police, shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, a Lincoln Continental drive by Paul Ferrone, 52, of New Hartford was heading north on Route 840 and stopped at a red traffic light. At the same time, a Chevy Malibu was also traveling north on Route 840, driven by Scott Lee, 34, of New Hartford, and struck Ferrone's vehicle in the rear.

Police say Lee's vehicle then proceeded into the intersection and struck a third vehicle, a Toyota Tundra driven by Ryan Desimone, 22, of Utica, that had the green light and was traveling east on Westmoreland Road.

Ferrone was being treated for beck and back pain and was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica by Central Oneida County Ambulance.

Lee was ticketed for following too closely and operating with an expired driver's license. He will appear in the Town of Whitestown Court next month to answer the charges.

The Whitestown Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
