Oneida County D.A. recusing himself portion of public lewdness case

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara will not be prosecuting a public lewdness case in the city of Utica.

D.A. McNamara says he is planning to recuse himself from the case because one of the 12 men arrested at Roscoe Conkling Park for public lewdness, Richard Emmert, worked on the campaign that got McNamara elected in 2007.

McNamara says he is only recusing himself from Emmert's case.

A district attorney from another county or a private lawyer will be brought in.

Emmert also worked on Michael Arcuri's campaign.
