ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fire fighters and county officials filled The Beeches in Rome Thursday night for the Oneida County Fire Chiefs Association Banquet. They gathered with law enforcement and county politicians and installed the Association's new president, Chief Joseph Morosco of Yorkville.

After fighting fires for 37 years, Chief Morosco hopes his experience helps to keep the Fire Association strong.

"We really need it," said Chief Morosco. "Everyone gets to know what is actually going on in the county, we all share our thoughts and put them together to make it work."

Firefighter awards went to Lake Delta Chief Larry Tamburrino and firefighters Mike Endres and Brian Kotbito with the Lake Delta Fire Department.

The 2012 Fire Service Achievement Award Chief Bill Deking of Bridgewater.
