Oneida County Independence Chairman charged with impersonating investigator
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida County Independence Party Chairman John Dote has been indicted on charges of impersonating a police investigator.
Dote is accused of impersonating an investigator in order to retrieve two rifles from the Whitestown Police Department - an incident that allegedly took place in 2009. Officials say Dote was getting the firearms for a friend who they were seized from and flashed identification as he claimed to be an investigator. Dote used to be a Frankfort Village Police Investigator, but hasn't been on the force since 2007. |
